Beehive was honored and delighted to host Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales at our premises.

Her Excellency, who is a long-time patron of Beehive Industries was treated to a delicious daube of beef with mash and greens and a smooth crème caramel for dessert, before re-acquainting herself with our Beehivers and the work that they do.  It was prepared and served by our in-house chef, Linda Westacott, who prepared it not only for the Governor’s visit, but also for our Beehivers during their daily lunch service.

Her Excellency listened to our Beehivers and their stories, as well as caught up with the issues currently facing Beehive Industries as a small charity and social enterprise.

The visit was concluded with the gifting of a traditional scone recipe book.  It was given to the Governor by our resident photographer, Ross Willis.  Both Her Excellency and Ross share a long history of scone making as a traditional pastime. 

The visit helped spark discussion between Beehive and the Governor as to how to better serve small charities and social enterprises in New South Wales.
