OUR STORY

Fifty years of caring for the community

Our Mission

Since 1971, Beehive Industries has been on a mission. Though the world around us has changed, our place in the local community is as vital today as it was almost 50 years ago when we first opened the doors to our Darlinghurst centre.

Our mission is to "beat the isolation faced by Sydney Seniors and those living with disability.” We believe everyone has value to contribute but not everyone feels valued or worthy of contributing.

For many people – particularly those faced with ageism or discrimination - there is no motivation to participate in a society from which they feel isolated.

We break the cycle of social isolation for these vulnerable individuals by:

  • Encouraging physical and mental well-being
  • Nurturing a sense of identity
  • Providing a meaningful purpose

As we work to end loneliness and isolation in Sydney's inner city, we encourage everyone to join us on our mission. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need.

We break the cycle of social isolation by...

Encouraging Physical Health
Improving Mental Wellbeing
Fostering Community & New Friendships
Providing a Sense of Purpose
Building Up Self-Confidence
Nurturing a Sense of Identity

We value the financial support of individuals and businesses who share in and contribute to our mission of ending loneliness for Sydney seniors and those living with a disability.
