We were delighted to host volunteers from Deloitte for their Impact Day initiative on 19 October, they helped us prepare a feast and help with activities for our Beehivers to celebrate Grandparents day.

Deloitte volunteers assisted our chef in the Kitchen packing our weekly food hampers and preparing lunch. They also assisted our production staff on the work floor by preparing our latest job for packing and stocking up our Beehivers with work.

We kicked off morning tea with home-made fairy cakes and bingo, followed by a lunch service of middle eastern pie with beetroot and feta salad. 

The volunteers helped to serve lunch and drinks, and joined in the fun and games, giving out goodie bags, which they had packed with chocolates and calling some more bingo.

The majority of our service users at Beehive are aged over 60, and we asked them to share with us their fondest memories and stories about being parents and grandparents.  The volunteers were able to sit down with them and learn about our Beehivers’ many grandchildren and even great grandchildren!
